Safety and scams

No genuine employer asks for money. If anyone asks you for a registration fee, security deposit, training fee, kit charge or any payment to get a job or start work, it is a scam. Report it and stop replying.

How eGig protects you

  • Employers are verified before their jobs go live.
  • Jobs and messages that ask for money are blocked and reviewed.
  • Your phone number stays hidden until you choose to share it.
  • Every job, service, project, profile, post, comment and message has a Report option. Intimate images shared without consent and child-safety reports are handled within 2 hours, scams, nudity and impersonation within 24 hours, and everything else within 7 days.

Warning signs

  • A job offer without any interview.
  • Pay that seems too high for very simple work, like liking videos or typing.
  • Pressure to move the chat to Telegram or another app.
  • Requests for your OTP, bank PIN, or a copy of your cards.
