Recruitment Notification No. CGRHQ(WEST)/01/2026 invites applications from eligible citizens for six Group C civilian posts by direct recruitment. Applications must reach Headquarters Coast Guard Region (West), Alexander Graham Bell Road, PO Malabar Hill, Mumbai 400006, by ordinary post by 3 Nov 2026.
Posts, one each: Store Keeper Grade II (EWS; Pay Level 2; 12th pass and 1 year of stores experience; age 18 to 25). Engine Driver (SC; Pay Level 4; Matriculation and an Engine Driver competency certificate; age 18 to 30). Lascar (EWS; Pay Level 1; Matriculation and 3 years of service on a boat; age 18 to 30). Civilian Motor Transport Driver, Ordinary Grade (OBC; Pay Level 2; 10th pass, heavy and light vehicle licence and 2 years of driving; age 18 to 27). MTS Peon (OBC; Pay Level 1; Matriculation and 2 years as office attendant; age 18 to 27). MTS Chowkidar (OBC; Pay Level 1; Matriculation and 2 years as chowkidar; age 18 to 27).
How to apply: fill in the form in Annexure I of the notification in English or Hindi, attach a self-attested colour photo and self-attested copies of your ID, certificates, category certificate and experience certificate, plus a self-addressed envelope with a ₹50 stamp. Write "APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ..." and your category on the envelope. Government employees must apply through proper channel with an NOC.
Selection: scrutiny of applications, document and biometric verification, then a one-hour written test of 80 objective questions (general knowledge, mathematics, general English and trade questions), with a trade test where applicable. Selected candidates may be posted anywhere under Coast Guard Region (West) and can be transferred anywhere in the country.
