Tips for a resume that gets calls
- One page if you have under 5 years of experience. Recruiters spend seconds on the first look.
- Start each line with a result: “Cut delivery time by 30%” beats “Responsible for deliveries”.
- Match the job’s words. Applicant tracking systems look for the skills named in the job post, so use the same terms.
- Skip your photo, date of birth, religion, marital status and father’s name unless the employer asks. Jobs on eGig can’t ask for these.
- Freshers: put Projects and Education above Experience, and add internships, college projects and freelance work.

Resume builder questions
Is this resume builder really free?
Yes. Every template, the writing suggestions, the resume score and the PDF download are free. There is no watermark and you do not need an account.
Are these resume templates ATS-friendly?
Yes. Each template is a single column of real text with standard headings such as Experience, Education and Skills, so applicant tracking systems can read it. There are no tables, text boxes or text inside images.
How do I download my resume as a PDF?
Choose Download PDF, then pick “Save as PDF” as the printer, A4 paper, and turn off headers and footers. Check every page before you send it.
Where is my resume saved?
What you type is saved in this browser on this device, not on eGig servers. If you import an old resume, the file is sent to eGig to read its text and is not kept. Clear your draft on a shared computer.
What should a fresher put on a resume?
Lead with a short summary, then education, projects, internships and skills. Choose the Graduate template to put education and projects before experience.
How long should my resume be?
One page if you have less than five years of experience, and usually no more than two pages otherwise. Keep the points that show results.
Should I add a photo or date of birth?
Usually not. Leave out your photo, date of birth, religion, marital status and family details unless the employer asks for them.
