What a quotation should include

Your name and contact details, the client’s name, a quotation number and date, how long the price holds, each item with its quantity and rate, GST shown separately, the total, and your payment and delivery terms.

GST: for a sale inside one state, the GST is split half and half into CGST and SGST. For a sale to another state, the full rate is IGST. Check the rate for your goods or services with the GST calculator or your accountant.

A quotation is not a tax invoice. When the client agrees, make the bill with the free invoice generator. Pricing a project? Try the project quote calculator and the margin calculator.

Questions people ask

What is the difference between a quotation and an invoice?
A quotation offers a price before the work is agreed. An invoice asks for payment after a sale, and a tax invoice has its own legal details. Once the client agrees, make the invoice.
Is a quotation legally binding?
It can become part of a contract once accepted, so be careful with your terms and validity date. For large work, have a proper contract too.
Should I show GST on a quotation?
Yes, if you are registered for GST and it will apply, so the client sees the full cost. Keep the rate as your accountant advises.
Is my data stored?
No. Everything stays in your browser, and nothing is uploaded.
