Biodata format for a job
- Personal details: full name, date of birth, languages and how to reach you.
- Education: your highest qualification first, with the board or university, year and marks.
- Work experience: your job title, employer, city and dates, latest first. If you are a fresher, leave it out and list projects or training instead.
- Skills: what you can actually do, such as Tally, driving with a licence, or typing speed.
- Declaration: one line saying the details are true, with the place, date and your signature.

Biodata, resume or CV?
A resume is a short summary of your work and results, and most private employers expect one. A CV is longer and covers your full academic and work history. A biodata adds personal details, and is common for smaller employers, some government forms and marriage. If an employer has not asked for a biodata, send a resume: use the free resume builder and check it with the ATS resume checker.
What to leave out
Share only what the reader needs. A job biodata rarely needs your caste, religion, height or family income. Do not put your Aadhaar, PAN or bank details on it, and be careful where you post it: a phone number on a public biodata can attract spam and scams.
